come on ppl we need ideas for what effect shards in the hand would do. remember they cannot be related to certain classes or races (such as skills and effects only for one race/class). it has been blank for so long i am tired of seeing the shard list of effects incomplete. things such as increased inventory cap or since elemental attacks only go into bare fisted attacks, increasing the amount of added damage from having an elemental bonus vs the element your strong against. neither are very good ideas i know. but ill have something better later. help out ppl.

I was thinking Lightwhip, Dokkasou, iron reaper, soul stealer (or whatever) etc etc. But I would like to see hands effect punches instead of arms

still no ideas for this? *sigh* alright perhaps embedding shards in the hand should increases the damage reduction of the skill block and the damage that spell seal does. since spell seal seems to have to do with making the correct hand motions if i remember the error message (i thought it said you fail to make the right hand motions or something like that). yea not much to add to what i said before, but there is no stat that can be put for this effect since the only logical stats have already been put else where and i dont know of many other skills that it would apply to that are not class or race orientated. well ill keep trying. later

Sadly, I would have to say and agree with here Ben... Ugh... That the improvement of certain skills such as Sankon Tetsuou, and Dokkasou, (Not lightwhip and Hijin Ketsusou, because they have other properties, which make little use of the hand's strnegth) would not be such a bad idea. Another thing Shards embeded in the hands can do is amplify damroll for meelee combat, it makes plenty a sense were it to be done. Also, the effectiveness of skills like 'Grip' and 'Disarm' and the such would also improve. Shards on hands can also improve the success rate of Spell seal, preventing the message failure: "You fail to execute the proper hand signs" or w/e it was, like Xero stated. That's all for now.

Maybe it could effect unarmed damroll/hitroll. There could be people who want to fight unarmed for character purposes, or there could be unarmed-only skills added (Martial Artist class, anyone?).

We plan for a hand combat weapon skill. You might be on to something, it'd be hand-to-hand actually useful.

I have a thing for Grapplers/Monks/Martial Artists/Otherwise-unarmed characters. It'd be really cool to be able to fight unarmed as effectively as other people. In fact, it could be as good as dual wielding weapons because they'd be able to use both hands to fight.

I'm reminded of the GW Monk "styles". Possibly make it so you can set a style, to where you fight a certain way. Grappling, throwing, and other martial-art moves that happen at random, and sometime work in chain. Such as being able to trip someone, and then knee them as they're falling down.

But yeah, back on the topic. Could increase the effectiveness of any skills involving fists (like punch), as well as the effectiveness of unarmed.

Shards in the hands should affect a skill like punch since the power of a punch comes from your arm and torso not your hand. While I can see things that are mainly in your hand being affected such as Grip, and a few others.

Yeah, the arms do that. But I mean, any skill that uses the hand. If more skills are added, like, say... Palmstrike, or uppercut that involve the fist. I can see the reasoning for arms strengthening it, and also makes more sense.

We also need a location that can increase intelligence, for the mainly Chi/Jakai users. Especially with all the cool Kidou being added *grins*.

I don't think shards ever did that, and I don't really plan on putting it in.

Or some location that can increase the effectiveness of skills that USE Chi/Jakai. Shards would obviously be capable of increasing spiritual power, no?

Unarmed?

Another suggestion is to allow parrying with your fists with a shard, heheh. Fists of steel!
